Supervise clients in daily duties and activities, working under the direction of the Program Manager, Program Supervisor and Director, in a faith based, 12 month residential rehabilitation program setting.

FT 40 hr Monday-Friday

 

Purpose:

Oversees the entire spiritual care and spiritual temperature of the program to ensure that clients
are receiving biblical teaching and proper spiritual care in accordance with the organization’s religious
beliefs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervision

● Responsible for the oversight and execution of biblical counseling; to ensure that clients are counseled
at least once every two weeks, and that counseling sessions are recorded on counseling reports.
● Facilitate weekly chapel and schedule community guest speakers. Communicate with the Executive
Assistant and Program Director to ensure no conflicts or overlap.
● Participate in regular meetings with the Program Director and Executive Director to ensure
concerns of assigned staff, interns, and clients are properly addressed.
● Oversee daily client-led devotional time and help as needed.
● Oversee and implement specific groups, i.e., dealing with anger, grief, etc.
● Review behavior records, evaluate performance of clients and recommend appropriate action.

Level Classes/ Group Studies for New Life in Christ (GSNL) Counseling Instruction

● Teach courses in the GSNL Curriculum and the Level Classes designated by the Program Director or
Executive Director.
● Correct related tests and quizzes.
● Maintain attendance logs, and grade books for clients.
● Report clients’ progress, or lack of progress, to the Program Director and Executive Director via
Progress Reports and department meetings.
● Ensure that grades and attendance records are maintained and turned into Executive Assistant.
● Work alongside the Executive Assistant to ensure classes are running on schedule.
● Work alongside the Program Director or Executive Director to ensure that instruction is Biblically sound.
● Provide client level changes and graduation recommendations when requested by the Program
Director.
● Conduct assigned individual and group counseling sessions in compliance with ATCNEW Policy and
Procedures.
● Review the students’ self-report.
● Maintain records of counseling sessions in student files according to ATCNEW Policy and
Procedures.
● Prepare program progress documentation for external care providers, probation, and court
supervision.

Relationship Building

● Develop healthy relationships with the clients in the program, maintaining appropriate boundaries,
and being a role model and mentor to them.
● Love, serve, and respect the clients while being firm and direct, pointing them toward their personal goals.
● Provide spiritual care to program clients. This may involve praying with clients, leading devotions,
and/or assisting with memorization of bible passages, all upon client’s request.
● Assist clients in difficult or emotional situations that may arise daily.
● Confront clients as needed about behavior or attitudes that are unhealthy, destructive, and out of
line with biblical and program standards.
● Model, as well as enforce all rules in such a way that the rules teach the clients according to biblical
principles and program guidelines.

Others

● Maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Adult & Teen Challenge of Northeastern Wisconsin’s
insurance carrier.
● Safely transport clients to all program functions, appointments, and outside activities,
exhibiting driving skills that inspire trust and confidence from clients when needed.
● Monitor the self-administration of all prescription medication, non-prescription medication,
and vitamins to clients when need be.
● Occasionally help facilitate ATCNEW Sunday service choir trips and attend all major ATCNEW
fundraisers and events.
● Lead and supervise clients during all duties and activities during the work shift when not teaching
biblical classes.
● Other duties as assigned by program director or senior management.

  • Interns, Recovery Coaches, and Volunteers.

Minium Qualifications

● 18 years of age.
● Ability to successfully complete background check process.
● Licensed minister, preferred, with strong ability to relate to and counsel people with life-controlling problems.
● Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in spiritual mentorship/counseling roles.
● Documented minimum 2 years freedom from chemical use problems.
● Strong personal relationship with Christ.
● Skilled in understanding and interpreting scripture.
● Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the spiritual restoration of individuals with lifecontrolling problems.
● Ability to clearly communicate the gospel message and other spiritual principles.
● Strong ability to relate to and counsel people with life-controlling problems.
● Very well organized.
● Excellent with individual and group counseling and documentation skills.
● Ability to keep on task and meet weekly minimum caseload requirements.
