Who We Are

Adult & Teen Challenge Northeastern Wisconsin (ATC-NEW) was initiated by a few Green Bay community residents moved by compassion to address the many lives lost over the past few years due to the drug and alcohol epidemic in the surrounding counties of Northeast Wisconsin. The group formed a committee in 2018 and created a strategic plan to launch a faith-based program option that could help address substance abuse and addictive behavior. In 2019, the committee obtained its 501c3 non-profit status. In early 2020, ATC-NEW received its accreditation and affiliation certification from the National Office of Adult & Teen Challenge in Ozark, Missouri. Next, the committee raised its initial operational costs to bring on its first employee, the program Executive Director, to help with structuring, launching, and leading the men’s program. In the summer of 2020, Vaushawn Johnson was hired as the organization’s Executive Director. Vaushawn has over a decade of experience working with the Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge organization. Since Vaushawn and his family relocated in the winter of 2020, he and the established Board of Directors of ATCNEW have been working urgently and adamantly towards their goal to launch the adult men’s program sometime in 2022.
