Putting Hope Within Reach
4-Level Recovery Program
At Adult & Teen Challenge of Northeastern Wisconsin, we believe addiction impacts the heart, mind, and spirit—not just the body. That’s why our 12-month, Christ-centered recovery program offers a safe, structured environment where men can heal from the inside out and discover their God-given purpose.
Through four transformational levels—focused on discipleship, life-skills training, character development, and spiritual renewal—residents address the root causes of addiction, break destructive patterns, and build a strong foundation for lasting freedom. Recovery is a process—and you don’t have to do it alone.
Building a Solid Foundation

Level 1:
Accept
Residents identify unhealthy behaviors, thought patterns, and beliefs that led to substance use, through our classes and curriculum. In a safe, supportive environment, they discover God’s unconditional love and plan for their lives—realizing that healing and lasting transformation are truly possible.

Level 2:
Heal
Residents engage in the emotional, mental, and spiritual work of healing with support from our care team. They confront root issues—past trauma, broken relationships, shame, and identity struggles—replacing false beliefs with God’s truth. As they grow in honesty with themselves and others, they lay the foundation for lasting restoration.

Level 3:
Discover
Residents uncover their God-given purpose as they grow in spiritual maturity and character. They identify their unique gifts, establish healthy relational boundaries, and pursue reconciliation in key relationships. They build a clear vision for a future free from past wounds through ongoing healing and training.

Level 4:
Practice
Residents in this final level apply everything they’ve learned as they prepare to reenter daily life. This stage focuses on real-world application. They set personal goals for family, secure employment, establish stable housing, manage time and finances, and step into leadership—so they can return to their families and communities strong, stable, and spiritually grounded.
Aftercare: Transitional
Recovery doesn’t end after the one-year program—it begins a new chapter.
ATCNEW understands that the transition from structured care to independent living is one of the most critical stages of recovery. That’s why our Aftercare Program is vital.
Through our 8-bed transitional living space for graduates, along with support systems like personal mentors, home church connections, and Celebrate Recovery groups, we ensure no one walks out our doors alone.
Graduates become part of the ATCNEW alumni community, receiving ongoing care from our team and staying connected through annual gatherings and alumni events. Each resident steps into a new season surrounded by a healthy, faith-based community—ready to walk with them in their continued pursuit of sobriety, stability, and purpose.
ATCNEW Leadership Academy
From Recovery to Leadership
The ATCNEW Leadership Academy is more than a next step—it’s a transformational leadership journey. This six-month program equips resilient graduates to become Christ-centered leaders, providing the spiritual, practical, and professional tools needed to thrive in ministry, recovery work, and a wide range of vocational paths. Graduates are prepared for employment opportunities with ATCNEW or other Adult & Teen Challenge centers across our network of over 200 locations nationwide.
Participants experience a holistic leadership pathway that integrates hands-on ministry internships, structured transitional housing, and academic development. Through mentorship and intentional training, students are challenged and empowered to grow spiritually, professionally, and personally.
Personal Transformation
Our goal is to provide a living environment that is safe, supportive, therapeutic and peaceful.
Choir Participation
Hope Has a Sound—And It Sings Through Us. Our program participants become members of the ATCNEW choir. Through every song and shared recovery journey, our residents don’t just find healing—they become instruments of hope. Hearts are touched, lives are changed, and those silently struggling are inspired to step forward and seek help.
Spritual Growth
Spiritual growth is a key part of the recovery journey at ATCNEW. Through regular church services, weekly chapels, biblical curriculum, and small group recovery sessions, our residents are consistently nurtured in mind, body, and spirit. True recovery in Christ doesn’t just restore—it renews.
Work
Therapy
Through our Give-Back Program (Work Therapy), residents put their recovery into action—learning responsibility, discipline, and the value of contributing to society. Each participant commits to weekly group community service, developing a strong work ethic and character through hands-on service opportunities. True healing happens when faith meets action.
Mentoring
Approved volunteer mentors are trained to walk alongside our residents, encouraging spiritual growth and long-term sobriety. Open to all participants in our one-year program, the Mentor Program fosters lasting transformation through trusted relationships and personal accountability. Growth is stronger when it’s shared—and freedom is deeper when it’s walked together.
